This is a skills development course for teachers with experience, and those who complete it successfully will have an excellent position in an ever-specialising ELT market. This new international qualification is offered in partnership by English UK and Trinity College London. Trinity handles moderation of course assignments for this qualification.
The course is aimed at
Practising teachers with a first degree, a relevant teaching qualification and one year’s English Language Teaching experience
The course aims to meet the needs of business English trainers at the start of their career: to enhance their expertise, to increase their employability in the sector, and to improve their ability to deliver a quality product to clients. Assessment is via a post-course assignment of between 3000 and 5000 words, which is to be submitted within 12 weeks of the end of the course.

Definitions of business EnglishConcepts and language in a business contextNeeds analysis and researchCourse and syllabus design
Materials and resourcesApproaches and methodsTeaching oral business communication skills: meetings, negotiations, telephoning and presentationsTeaching business writing: correspondence and reportsEvaluation and assessment: evaluating programme aims; teaching for business English examsInternationalism: English as a Lingua Franca, cross-cultural awareness in business
Entry requirements
Prospective participant must have:
one year's ELT experience, ideally some in Business English
minimum level of English: Cambridge Proficiency/Council of Europe C.2
